Local Attractions

There is plenty to do in Colorado Springs! We’re the home of Pikes Peak, the Cog Railway, Glen Eyrie, Garden of the Gods, The US Olympic Committee, the US Olympic Training Center, the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Air Force Academy, Peterson Air and Space Museum, the Broadmoor Hotel which has hosted the U.S. Women Open, the World Arena and much, much more.

Local and Regional Activities

Outside of Colorado Springs, there are many other popular attractions and activities that are easy to drive to. We’re nearby to Aspen, Vail, Telluride, Breckenridge, Monarch, Copper Mountain, Estes Park, Keystone, and many other world-class ski resorts. If skiing is not your thing, there are also several “14ers”—mountains that are 14,000 or taller—for climbing, including Pikes Peak. Hiking and orienteering are fun in the beautiful mountains and valleys. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is only a short drive away, as is Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, The Anasazi Cliff Dwellings, Royal Gorge, and other natural and man-made wonders.

Colorado Springs is a great place to own or run a business. The corporate tax rates are low, and we’re home to more nonprofit organizations than anywhere else in the nation, including Compassion International, the Association of Christian Schools International, the American Numismatic Association, the El Pomar Foundation, The Navigators, and Young Life.

Schools and Universities

Colorado College is a highly renowned private college right in the heart of downtown. The school’s hockey team plays at the World Arena and are NCAA Champions. Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind is also downtown, and was established in 1874. For Air Force Cadets, the US Air Force Academy is located on the north side of town. University Colorado Colorado Springs is ranked according to US News & World Report: America’s Best College Tenth among Western regional public universities.

Colorado Springs has many great health care facilities that are located throughout the community. Memorial Health System, www.memorialhealthsystem.com is nonprofit establishment that consists of three hospitals – Memorial Hospital Central, Memorial Hospital North and Memorial Hospital for Children. Penrose-St. Francis Hospital & Health Services, www.penrosestfrancis.org is a full service, 522 bed acute care facility in Colorado Springs including Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. EVANS Army Hospital, evans.amedd.army.mil is located on Ft. Carson and provides exceptional health care to our Soldiers, Veterans and dependents.
